The summit of this 3,214-foot mountain with its restored fire tower (which can be climbed for spectacular views) can be reached by a one-mile gravel road either by car, or by hike. Set GPS to 34 Main Street (NY Route 23) in Stamford, NY. Make a right on Mountain Avenue. This road will become very steep. Continue until the dirt road on the left, named Tower Road. If you want to hike up to the summit, park at the sign you see at the corner of Tower Road, or continue up Tower Road to reach the summit by car.
