Our exciting 5-day road trip to Niagara Falls began on a sunny Wednesday afternoon in Spring Valley. With two kids in tow, we set off towards Canada, eager to explore the breathtaking natural wonders that awaited us.
Day 1: Scenic Drive and Picnic Dinner
We hit the road late in the afternoon and drove north towards Canada. As the sun began to set, we stopped at a serene lake in Liberty, NY, for a picturesque picnic dinner. The tranquil atmosphere and stunning sunset views made for a perfect start to our journey. After dinner, we continued driving for a few more hours before calling it a night in Syracuse, NY.
Day 2: Exploring Onondaga Lake & Niagara Falls
The next morning, we strolled around Onondaga Lake, taking in the beautiful scenery. Just an hour’s drive away, we discovered the towering Finger Lakes region, boasting stunning trails, waterfalls and breathtaking views. The kids loved exploring the great outdoors! Next, we headed to Niagara Falls, where we experienced the iconic “Maid of the Mist” boat tour on the NY side. The new battery-powered boats made for a thrilling and eco-friendly ride. We strolled along the NY side, taking in the falls’ majesty, Crossed the border and enjoyed dinner at Chabad Niagara enjoying the colorful falls at night, before heading to Toronto for Shabbos.

Day 4: Toronto Adventures

On Sunday, we ventured into downtown Ontario, where the kids had a blast at the Aquarium. We then ascended the CN Tower for panoramic views from 1,800 feet. A taxi boat ride took us to Centre Island, a hidden gem with lakes, parks and plenty of activities. We savored a picnic dinner on the lake, watching the sunset.

Time flew by, and we reluctantly headed back to the mainland and began our journey back to New York.
